About the client:
The client is a major player in the oil & gas space. In this Research Support Service License, the Client was seeking to learn about new technologies in the field of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) that had the potential to complement or transform their operation flow, with the objective of reducing costs and carbon footprint while improving overall process efficiency.
Challenge:
PreScouter’s challenge was to compile a landscape of CCUS technologies, advancements, and innovations and offer further insights that would help provide the Client with a roadmap for moving forward.
Approach:
PreScouter researched information and data regarding CCUS technologies, vendors, startups, research studies, and market trends utilizing resources that included academic publications, white papers, startup profiles, case studies, press releases, and outreach to companies and researchers. The PreScouter team also conducted interviews with Subject Matter Experts and provided the Client with their insights and recommendations.
Outcome:
As a result of this engagement, the Client was enabled to assess a wide range of technologies, industry players, and potentially groundbreaking innovations in CCUS while benchmarking peer companies. This provided them with the opportunity to evaluate the potential of investing in promising companies and consider new opportunities for licensing, partnership, purchasing, and internal development.
Impact of PreScouter’s Work:
The Client re-engaged with PreScouter in another contract in which a further in-depth investigation into technologies, trends, outreach, collaboration, and participation in industry projects with major players would be tackled.
