About the Client:
The Client, a major A&D company, engaged PreScouter to help its team in charge of tracking future disruptions to the business identify emerging technologies and trends that could lead to true disruption of the Aerospace & Defense industry.
Challenge:
The challenge for PreScouter was to help the Client understand state of the art disruptive technology areas across a number of parallel industries that could lead to potential investment opportunities.
Approach:
PreScouter analyzed the core business units and product lines of the Client and other defense players, leveraging research into key markets and their trends in order to understand what might be disruptive to these technology areas in the future. Areas identified included sectors like eVTOL, air taxis, advanced computing, and artificial general intelligence, among others.
In consultation with the Client, PreScouter then applied insights from Subject Matter Experts to identify a series of promising technology disruptors for these markets and technology sectors.
Outcome:
PreScouter presented 8 disruptive technologies to the Client, along with a development roadmap and timeline in order to provide additional insights in terms of when these potential disruptions may pose a significant shift to the Client’s existing business lines.
