About the Client:
The Client, a major chemical company, was highly interested in sustainability and green solutions compliant with various regulations set by different countries. In particular, the Client was interested in a “green” surface treatment solution for paper-based packaging materials.
Challenge:
The goal of this engagement was to identify suppliers of renewable raw materials that were compliant with relevant regulations and could be used in food packaging.
Approach:
PreScouter identified and profiled suppliers from their proprietary supplier database, vendor websites, industry fairs, and trade shows. Any available technical information such as grease resistance, sealability, or dry content was to be listed for the Client. PreScouter then reached out to identify companies to fill in any missing information that was needed by the Client.
Outcome:
PreScouter identified 23 potential suppliers that met the criteria set by the Client. The PreScouter team provided a company overview for each supplier and their specific raw material product as well as an overview and technical data on each solution. Based on the information collected, PreScouter then narrowed the list down to the 4 most promising suppliers.
Impact of PreScouter’s Work:
The Client was able to follow up with those suppliers identified as the most promising and decide which would work best for their purposes.
