Roadmap for Increasing Organizational Agility in the Aerospace & Defense Sector

About the Client:

The Client is a global leader in the aerospace & defense sector. The Client engaged PreScouter in this research support service project to complement their research into organizational agility as it relates to commercial sectors adjacent to aerospace & defense.

Challenge:

The challenge for PreScouter was to identify academic research, technologies, practices, and insights that could be applied to an organization with a rigid command structure in order to help the organization become more agile.

Approach:

PreScouter focused on identifying:

  1. Technologies that contribute to improvements in business agility along with case studies demonstrating the impact of adopting these technologies.
  2. Academic research and literature looking at how to increase business agility at the team vs individual levels (cognitive processes, human-computer interaction, decision-making, knowledge transfer, etc.).
  3. Emerging processes within the defense as well as other sectors with hierarchical organizational structures, such as emergency aid and critical infrastructure
  4. Best practices and case studies for improving business agility across the focus industries.
  5. High-level insights about organizational agility from a Subject Matter Expert.

Outcome:

PreScouter developed a roadmap for enhancing organizational agility and outlined concrete implementation steps starting at the leadership level that the Client could use to begin the process of improving the organization’s agility.
