Measure both scopes
We calculated direct refrigerant leakage and indirect electricity emissions for each cooling device.
A global automotive and technology manufacturer wanted to know the carbon cost of cooling its IT data centers. We calculated refrigerant and energy emissions site by site and mapped the rules ahead.
The client is a multinational automotive and technology manufacturer with data centers worldwide. It wanted to understand the emissions from its cooling devices and how refrigerant rules would change.
Prescouter was asked to calculate the carbon emissions from refrigerant leaks and energy use of cooling devices across global IT sites, and to assess current and future refrigerant regulations.
Direct emissions from cooling devices.
Indirect emissions from power use.
Current and future limits on use.
We calculated direct refrigerant leakage and indirect electricity emissions for each cooling device.
We applied country-specific emission factors to reflect the geographic spread of the sites.
We analyzed current and upcoming refrigerant regulations and turned them into recommendations.
Prescouter calculated Scope 1 and 2 emissions for the year and compared them with the previous baseline, pinpointing the sites and devices driving emissions. We also delivered a plug-and-play monitoring model and a refrigerant guide for IT site managers.
Main sites and devices identified.
For ongoing refrigerant monitoring.
Current and future rules for sites.
Cooling is an easy emission source to overlook. Measuring it site by site turns a vague target into a clear action plan.
Let’s measure what matters and build a plan to reduce it. Wherever you’re starting from, we’ll help you get there.
